• The city of Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department operates eight outstanding municipal golf courses and driving ranges to accommodate a variety of skill levels. Courses are open from dawn to dusk, seven days a week, including holidays.
  
  Tee times can be made up to eight days in advance by clicking on the "Book Tee Time Icon" above OR seven days in advance if booking by phone or in person. Purchase and Phoenix Golf card and make reservations 9 days in advance.
  
  Each city course has experienced PGA/LPGA staff available to provide instruction ranging from private lessons to group clinics.
  
  The Parks and Recreation Department also offers summer golf classes at no charge for youths 8 to 17 years old. Call the course of your choice for more information.
  
  Aguila Golf Course is the latest addition to Phoenix's roster of municipal golf courses. Designed by golf course architect Gary Panks, the $6.5 million, 210-acre facility features an 18-Hole Championship Course and a 9 hole Par 3 Course. Both offer challenging layout and design. Aguila, surrounded by scenic mountain views and Phoenix's downtown skyline, welcomes all levels of golfers from beginners to expert (scratch) golfers. Aguila Golf Course is the former site of the Alvord family farm. Its name is Spanish for "Eagle." The Aguila logo adopts an ancient Aztec design of an eagle. Both courses are flanked by numerous bunkers and holes, with transition areas of native grasses and wild flowers. The 18-Hole Championship Course features three lakes coming into play on five holes, continuous cart paths and four sets of tees. The Par Three Course includes two teeing areas per hole, driving range and practice greens.
